Amethyst Amelia Kelly (ایگی آزالیا), better known by her stage name Iggy Azalea (/əˈzeɪljə/), is an Australian recording artist from Mullumbimby, New South Wales. She left for the United States at the age of 16, to pursue a career in hip hop music, first residing in Miami, Florida, and then other parts of southern United States, including Houston, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. She first gained recognition after the respective music videos for her controversial songs "Pu$$y" and "Two Times" went viral on YouTube. In September 2011, she released her debut mixtape Ignorant Art and subsequently aligned herself with Atlanta-based rapper T.I. In March 2012, T.I. announced Azalea's signing to his record label imprint Grand Hustle, as a result she released an EP executive produced by T.I., titled Glory, in July 2012. She later went into professional modeling, when she became represented by Wilhelmina Models and was announced the "New Face of Levi Jeans". Also in 2012, Azalea became both the first female and the first non-American rapper to be featured on XXL's annual Top 10 Freshman cover issue.

Her debut studio album, Ora (2012), debuted at number one in the United Kingdom, and spawned the number-one singles "R.I.P." and "How We Do (Party)". After reaching the peak position as a featured act on DJ Fresh's "Hot Right Now", Ora became the artist with the most number-one singles on the UK Singles Chart in 2012, with three consecutive singles that reached the top position. She was nominated for three awards at the 2013 BRIT Awards. The first single from her second album, "I Will Never Let You Down", debuted atop the UK Singles Chart in 2014, making Ora the second British solo female artist to score four UK number ones, after Geri Halliwell.
